MB – Today we are going to review a very important, yet simple skill. How to do your laundry.
MM – We are ready to walk you through the battle of doing laundry in college, step by step.
MB – We understand that many students might come from a household where their mommys’ did their laundry. But that’s okay, because we’re here to help.
- Check to see if there is a washer machine available
- Gather all of your dirty laundry
- Walk to the laundry room in your respective building
- Open up the washer
- Empty your clothes into the washer
- Choose your detergent. This could be a liquid, a sheet, a pod, or something else
- Insert your choice of detergent into the washer. Either pour the liquid into the special compartment or pop your sheet/pod into the washer with the clothes.
- Set a timer on your phone for how long it will take
- Go find something to do, but don’t get busy enough that you forget about your laundry. (reference picture)
- When your timer goes off, walk down to the laundry room
- Find a dryer that is open and check the lint tray to see if buttholes left theirs
- Switch over the clothes
- Place a dryer sheet into the dryer
- Set another timer on your phone for how long it will take
- Go find something to do, but don’t get too busy
- When your timer goes off, walk back down to the laundry room
- Put all your clean clothes into your laundry bag/bin
- Empty the lint tray
- Walk to your room
- Put away all your clothes. Fold your pants, hang your shirts, match your socks.
- Repeat
