Who is this person and why are they significant?
I am choosing to write my speech on my dad. I think personally I do a lot of recognizing my mom and what she does for me, but this is only because more people see what she does rather than my dad, who works more behind the scenes to make sure my brothers and I are succeeding at everything and anything we put our minds to.
What are some traits about the person?
My dad is strong, but not only physically, but mentally. He is caring, and would do anything for the people he loves. He is a hard worker. He has his main jobs, but also has his side jobs to ensure he is giving his family the best. He is also stubborn, which is probably where I get it from. He is not afraid to speak his mind and stand up for people, which is something I’ve always admired about it.
What is a story you will share?
I think I will start my speech with a quote from my dad: “Don’t let the clouds cover up the beautiful that might be coming”. Then I will talk about why he said this quote to me, and then lead into talking about him.
